Suspect arrested in Long Beach sexual assault

A 21-year-old homeless man was arrested on Friday on suspicion of sexually assaulting two girls in separate attacks in Long Beach.

According to Long Beach police, officers responded to the intersection of Carson Street and Atlantic Avenue around 10:15 a.m. Thursday after receiving a report of a sexual assault on a girl.

According to police, the girl was on a bus when she was approached by an unknown man. The girl and the man both left the bus, and after a “brief verbal exchange,” “the suspect proceeded to sexually assault the victim,” police said.
