“A 67-year-old Dartmouth woman was killed and a 64-year-old Bristol, Rhode Island, man was hospitalized after they were struck by a box truck on Joseph Drive in Fall River yesterday.

Around noon on Wednesday, the two victims, the driver of the delivery truck and three other people were at 214 Joseph Drive to pick up a dresser. The six people were all employees or volunteers of the nonprofit My Brother’s Keeper, which organizes the delivery and pickup of donated furniture.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of the van, a 25-year-old woman from Taunton, reversed the truck and hit two volunteers who were behind it.

The deceased victim has been identified as Jean Revil. The injured man was listed in critical but stable condition this morning at Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.

The case remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and the Fall River Police Department.” – Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
