NJ HS teacher charged with sexual relationship with student: MCPO

A former teacher in Monmouth County was arrested and charged with having a sexual relationship with a student.

Julie Rizzitello of Brick Township, NJ, arrested

Julie Rizzitello, 36, of Brick Township, who reportedly resigned from Wall Township High School earlier this week, is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, third-degree witness tampering and three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault.

The Monmouth County District Attorney’s Office said an investigation revealed that Rizzitello’s alleged criminal conduct began earlier this year and that he “allegedly engaged in various sexual acts with the victim on multiple occasions and in at least three jurisdictions – Belmar, Brick and Wall.”

This investigation resulted in charges being filed in both Monmouth County for the offenses in the Belmar and Wall cases and charges being filed in Ocean County for the offenses in the Brick cases.

Rizzitello was arrested earlier this week and remains incarcerated at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending trial.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant Monmouth County Prosecutor Danielle Zanzucki, Director of the MCPO Special Victims Bureau. Rizzitello is represented by Francis R. Hodgson, Esq., of Toms River office.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
