Man held on $1 million bail after incident of aggression while driving with gun rage

According to police, no injuries were reported.

ENFIELD, Connecticut – A man was arrested Wednesday in Enfield following a road rage incident that involved the use of a firearm, city police said.

Peter Smario III, 44, of Enfield, is charged with attempted assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm, two counts of violating a restraining order, unlawful possession of a weapon, malicious damage to property, threatening behavior and having weapons in a motor vehicle, according to police.

Officers received a call at 11:54 p.m. Wednesday about a road rage incident in which a shot was fired in the Freshwater Boulevard area, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Smario was eventually found on Ganny Terrace and arrested after stopping a “dangerous motor vehicle,” police said. He is being held on $1,000,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court Friday morning.
