HYDERABAD: Two real estate agents allegedly drugged and raped their colleague near an under-construction building in Miyapur in the late hours of Sunday. The accused, Sanga Reddy and Janardhan Reddy, were arrested by the Miyapur police on Wednesday and remanded in judicial custody.

According to police, the woman had recently joined the company and met the accused in Sun City on Sunday. The two men offered her a room in a hostel in Miyapur so that she could freshen up. They then visited a construction site in Yadagirigutta around noon.

When the meeting ended at 9 p.m., the accused offered to take her back to the hostel. Later, when they were driving near a construction site, they pretended that the car was broken down. They asked her if she wanted something to eat and although she refused their offer, they gave her some sweets and a cold drink.

After consuming the drink, she felt dizzy and they asked her to eat the candy to make herself feel better. However, she became even more dizzy and the duo took advantage of the situation and sexually harassed her.

Uppal police registered a complaint, no FIR was lodged and the case was transferred to Miyapur police station.

The police have registered a case under sections 376, 323, 509 and 420 of the International Penal Code (IPC).
