Police shooting on Indy’s west side under investigation

INDIANAPOLIS – An investigation is underway following a shooting on the city’s west side involving city police officers.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a report that a person had been shot at a home near the intersection of Vermont and Lynhurst around 11:30 a.m. in the 5100 block of W. Vermont Street.


According to police, this incident was an officer-involved shooting. According to IMPD, no officers were injured.

At this point, the police have not yet been able to determine whether a possible suspect was injured in the shooting.

No further information has been released at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.
