Woman in the USA illegally accused of raping a 12-year-old boy from Central Florida

A 20-year-old woman living illegally in the United States has been accused of raping a 12-year-old boy from Central Florida.

Amanda Romero Maradiaga of DeBary was arrested and charged with lewd or lascivious battery on a 12-year-old boy. She is accused of raping the child at the boy’s father’s home in DeBary.

The arrest report states that the child lived at times at his mother’s home in Sanford and his father’s home in DeBary. The mother reportedly alerted police when she noticed her son was in pain.

The 12-year-old then told investigators that the 20-year-old woman had forced him to have sexual intercourse.

Information from law enforcement indicates that the father may be involved in the case. He reportedly said he saw no problem with his underage son having sex with an older woman.

The woman, who is in the country without papers, was taken into custody and is being held without bail, according to local law enforcement authorities.

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office said Maradiaga is not a U.S. citizen and appears to be living in the U.S. illegally. Local investigators contacted Homeland Security Investigations and an immigration arrest warrant was issued at the Volusia County Jail.
