Man sentenced to eight years in prison for sexual harassment

The Court for Serious Capital Crimes has convicted a man in his twenties of sexually abusing a nine-year-old boy by touching the boy’s buttocks.

In a public hearing, the court convicted the defendant of sexual assault under Article 299 of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to eight years’ imprisonment.

The court found that the victim went to the grocery store where the defendant worked to buy juice.

The defendant asked the boy to go to an area of the grocery store where potato chips were on display before the boy went there.

According to the court’s verdict, the accused placed his hand on the boy’s buttocks over his clothes. When the boy asked why, the accused claimed he was wiping dirt off.

The defendant then asked the boy to follow him into a nearby room, saying that he wanted to give him something, and he repeatedly touched the boy.

The court’s decision states that the defendant shouted at the victim when he said he would tell his mother what had happened.

The accused tried to bribe the boy with money or biscuits to keep quiet. The boy left and informed his parents about the incident the next day.
