Gunman killed in police shooting in Pomona – NBC Los Angeles

A man armed with a gun was killed in a police shooting in Pomona late Tuesday.

Pomona police officers responded to an incident at a hotel near North Hamilton Boulevard and West Center Street shortly before midnight after a report of a man with a gun. The man ran from officers and drew the weapon before officers opened fire, police said.

The man, whose identity is unknown, died in hospital. None of the officers were injured.

A weapon was seized at the crime scene. It was initially unclear whether the man had shot at the officers.
