Israel attacks 66-year-old Palestinian woman with dog, video shows

Al Jazeera has obtained leaked clips from a camera attached to an Israeli army dog, showing it attacking an elderly Palestinian woman in her home in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip.

The woman told Al Jazeera that she was attacked at home while she was sleeping. She was abused and suffered broken bones.

The woman has been identified as Dawlat Abdullah Al Tanani. She is currently in Jabalia refugee camp.

The woman said she refused to leave her house, so Israeli forces set a dog on her while she was still in bed.

The dog “dragged and dragged me all the way to the entrance (of the house). Now I have a serious injury. There are no hospitals or anything else where my injury could be treated. My hand is still untreated,” she said.

Al Tahani said she was abused and suffered broken bones. “Now I am suffering from (injuries to) my arm, and my injury is serious. There are no hospitals or medicines,” she reiterated.

Husam Zomlot, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the UK, has denounced “shocking footage of an Israeli army dog attacking and viciously biting a 66-year-old Palestinian woman in her home in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip”.

“Cowards!” Zomlot added in a social media post sharing the footage.
