Driver killed in accident on 14 motorways identified

The driver who was killed by a teenage hit-and-run driver on Highway 14 last Friday has been identified.

Hector Aranda22, was identified as the man killed Friday morning when the motorist killed by a 17-year-old hit-and-run driver in Acton on June 14, according to the LLos Angeles County Office of the Coroner and Medical Examiner.

At about 1:20 a.m. on Friday, June 14, CHP officers received reports of a three-vehicle crash on the 14 Freeway south of the Red Rover Mine in Acton, said Officer Josh Greengard, a spokesman for the CHP Newhall Area Office in a previous KHTS article.

A tow TRUCK was assisting a broken down Honda Pilot SUV on the right shoulder. The tow truck driver and the driver of the Honda were standing outside the Honda when a Nissan Altima collided into the rear of the Honda, causing the Honda Pilot to be thrown into the pedestrians.

After the collision, the driver of the Altima fled the scene on foot and was later arrested at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.

As of Saturday, no charges had been filed.
