Consumer warning for Washington’s Landing seafood restaurant – WPXI

PITTSBURGH – A restaurant in Washington’s Landing received a consumer alert following an inspection this week.

According to the Allegheny County Health Department, inspectors found 15 violations at RedFin Blues on Thursday.

The inspection report said several violations could pose a high risk for foodborne illness, including two related to the condition of the food. Inspectors found high-risk violations in the thawing of cod and tuna and the storage of large quantities of food, including raw fish, at unsafe temperatures.

Other high-risk violations included an employee’s beverage sitting on a used cutting board and a can opener blade with old residue on it.

There were several other lesser violations. Some of the cases mentioned in the inspection report include cocktail mixes and beer being exposed to extreme temperatures, numerous refrigerators with unsafe ambient temperatures, and food items without date markings. The report also notes that the ambient air temperature at the cooking line was between 30 and 38 degrees, which could be putting stress on the refrigeration equipment and contributing to the unsanitary environment.

A date for the re-examination has not yet been set.
