On-site fire and accident response

Combine fire on Warm Spring Rd On June 21, 2024 at 11:30 a.m., Engine 45 and Special Unit 44 were dispatched to a fire incident in the 2600 block of Warm Spring Road, in the area of ​​8-04. A combine caught fire, and the flames spread to the nearby field. Ambulance 8-8 was first to report the incident. Engine 45 actively fought the fire by laying hoses to both the combine and the field, while Engine Tanker 8 and Engine Tanker 18 provided the necessary water supply.

Emergency calls from the previous day On June 20, 2024, local emergency services responded to three separate incidents:

  1. Early morning car accident At 5:55 a.m., Squad 41 was alerted to a car accident in Company 8’s area of ​​responsibility, but was recalled en route because no assistance was needed at the scene.
  2. Traffic accident in the morning At 7:05 a.m., the 41st Troop arrived at the scene of the accident at the intersection of Lincoln Way East and Franklin Farm Lane. The troop confirmed there were no injuries and assisted in clearing debris from the roadway.
  3. Equipment fire in the afternoon At 2:45 p.m., Engine 45 and Truck 42 responded to a reported appliance fire on Mark Drive in the area of ​​44-09. The incident involved smoke coming from the electrical switch on a kitchen stove. On-scene investigation by STA4 units revealed only minor smoke coming from the electrical outlet with no fire spreading. The source of the smoke was identified as a faulty furnace and power to the appliance was immediately disconnected to prevent further hazard.
