Kaleshwaram SI suspended for assault

Hyderabad: Inspector General of Police (Multi Zone 1) AV Ranganath issued suspension orders for Bhavani Sen, a sub-inspector, after she was accused of sexually harassing a woman head superintendent of police at Kaleshwaram police station.

According to reports, Bhavani was arrested by the police for sexually assaulting a female constable at gunpoint. He was accused of repeatedly raping the constable at Kaleshwaram in Mahadevpur mandal of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district. During investigation, he confessed to the charges.

Bhavani abused the policewoman at gunpoint and committed the heinous crime repeatedly at the old police station near the Laxmi Pump House of Kaleshwaram Project. He threatened the policewoman of dire consequences if she told anyone about his heinous acts.

The victim was reportedly living in fear and even contemplated suicide due to the sub-inspector’s increasing harassment of her. However, she filed a complaint with the district superintendent of police, who initiated an investigation that led to the arrest of the sub-inspector.

The investigation conducted by DSP Kaleshwaram revealed that the sub-inspector had threatened at least three other women police officials and also sexually harassed them. After a preliminary investigation based on the complaint, the Kaleshwaram police arrested Bhavani Sen late on Tuesday night.
