Ryan Garcia made a big claim on Wednesday ahead of a looming suspension.

Garcia took to social media to vent his anger about all of his current issues and, amidst the flood of news, announced that he would be retiring.

“Mom has cancer

“I am being sued

“My nutritional supplements were contaminated

“Going through a divorce

“There is always talk about shit on the Internet, for years

“Devin demands that my victory be taken away from me

“I get hit by everything

“I STILL LOVE GOD, HE IS EVERYTHING,” Garcia said in his rant (prose words edited by LBS).

Garcia said at the time that he wanted to retire and become an actor or singer.

And after several messages, Garcia concluded by announcing his resignation.

“I’m officially retired,” Garcia finally said.

Garcia has become as well known for his crazy social media activity as his boxing in recent years, but boxing reporter Dan Rafael noted that Garcia’s statement about his “retirement” came shortly before the boxer was suspended for his positive drug test following his win over Devin Haney.

Garcia, 25, has a 25-1 record in his professional boxing career. He lost to Gervonta Davis in 2023 and defeated Haney in April, although that result is set to be overturned due to Garcia’s positive drug test.
