Deputies arrest 14-year-old for sexually abusing 91-year-old woman – WFTV

Forensic investigators were able to clearly identify the suspect using DNA evidence.

On Monday, officers arrested the 14-year-old for this brutal crime.

WFTV is currently not revealing or showing the teen’s name.

“I told everyone last week that we would find the person responsible, and we did. I am very proud of the hard work my investigators and forensics team did on this case to bring about a quick resolution. This type of unimaginable violence still shocks me after all my years in law enforcement. The community of Reddick has shown their resilience and support for us and their community throughout this time. I also want to thank all the citizens who have come forward with tips and leads in this case,” said Sheriff Woods. “It was a shock that someone would commit such an act against a 91-year-old, but it is truly disturbing when we see the young age of the man arrested. While I firmly believe he should be held accountable for his crime, as a father to my family, my sympathies go out to him. Hopefully his arrest will result in him receiving help that will prevent future acts like this from happening.”

The 14-year-old was arrested and handed over to the juvenile justice authority.
