Telangana ministers assure state support for relatives of girl raped and murdered in Peddapalli

PEDDAPALLI: Following the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl by a Bihar native in Katnapalli in Sultanabad mandal, several ministers and senior Congress leaders visited the victim’s family on Sunday.

IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister D Anasuya alias Seethakka, Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna and MLA Ch Vijaya Ramana Rao assured them that the government would work to ensure that the accused is punished for the crime.

Later, Sridhar Babu told the media that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had stressed that he was taking the matter very seriously and would work to ensure justice for the victim and her family.

He termed the crime “cruel” and said the incident had left him in pain. At the same time, he reiterated that the government would ensure that the accused gets the maximum punishment possible. Seethakka said the state government stands by the victim’s family. “CM Revanth is involved in the case. He will take steps to expedite the investigation and ensure that the accused is punished strictly,” she added.
