I’M SURE I’LL SEE IT. WITH CHANEL’S REPORT TOMORROW, BUT STILL. YES, THERE ARE LOTS OF GOOD THINGS TO DO WITH DAD TODAY. IT’S GOING TO BE PLENTY WARM AND PLENTY HUMID OUTSIDE. THERE’S A CHANCE OF AN ORDERLY RAIN SHOWER OR STORM, MAINLY IN THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING. BUT I DON’T THINK IT’LL AFFECT YOUR FATHER’S DAY PLANS. NOTHING I’D CANCEL. PLANS FOR OUTDOORS WITH DAD ONLY A VERY SMALL, ORDERLY CHANCE. FROM THEN ON, WE WILL BE TALKING ABOUT MOSTLY DRY WEATHER, THANKS TO THE HIGH PRESSURE, IT WILL HEAT UP TO MOSTLY OVER 30°C BY THE END OF THE COMING WORK WEEK, AND THEN EVEN POSSIBLE TO BE UNDER 35°C. SO WE WILL BE TALKING ABOUT IT HERE IN A FEW MINUTES. THIS MORNING IT WILL BE WARMER OUTSIDE. 15°C IN THE NORTH AND EAST. AND THEN ONLY 21°C IN THE SOUTH TOWARDS CHARLOTTE. AT 22°C, OUR CURRENT IN LEXINGTON HAS SHIFTED SO THAT YESTERDAY IT CAME FROM THE NORTHEAST, WHICH IS A SLIGHTLY DRYER AND MILDER WIND DIRECTION FOR US TODAY. IT’S COMING FROM THE SOUTHEAST AGAIN. YOU SEE THERE’S MORE HUMIDITY IN THE SOUTH. GREENSBORO, ASHEBORO, LEXINGTON, DEW POINTS ABOVE 60. ALL THE HUMIDITY IS SPREADING OUT SO IT’S FEELING MORE HUMID AS THE DAY GOES ON. THE SOUTHEAST WIND IS ALSO CREATING SOME ADDITIONAL CLOUDS, AND EVEN AN INCIDENT RAIN SHOWER RIGHT NOW MOVES THROUGH DAVIE COUNTY. THAT’S WHAT IT’S GOING TO LOOK LIKE FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. I’M NOT EXPECTING A LOT OF RAIN. YOU MAY NOTICE SOME ADDITIONAL CLOUDS OR A SPLASH OF RAIN, YOU KNOW, SOME KIND OF DARK CLOUD IN THE DISTANCE THAT APPEARS FROM TIME TO TIME. BEST CHANCE WOULD BE LATER TODAY IN THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS TO THE WEST AGAINST THE MOUNTAIN SLOPES, BUT AGAIN ACROSS THE AREA. SMALL CHANCE OF AN ISOLATED RAIN SHOWER LATE AFTERNOON. NOTHING TO WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT. WE WILL SEE SOME ADDITIONAL CLOUDS TODAY WITH THE SOUTHEAST WIND. IT’S STILL WARM ENOUGH OUTSIDE. HIGHS ON FATHER’S DAY IN THE PIEDMONT TRIAD: MID 30S. ALSO IN THE FOOTHILLS: LOW TO MID 30S. IT STILL FEELS PRETTY WARM OUTSIDE IN WILKESBORO, MOUNT AIRY, AND YADKINVILLE. BUT THESE TEMPERATURES ARE JUST AVERAGE FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. LIKELY TO BE IN THE 25S IN THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS, WITH A SLIGHTLY GREATER CHANCE OF RAIN OR STORM LATE AFTERNOON. AND IN THE EVENING IN THE WEST, UP IN THE HIGH COUNTRIES OF NORTH CAROLINA. FROM THERE, THE CHANCE OF SOME RAIN OR STORM IS GREATEST ON MONDAY IN THE WEST ALONG THE BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS, AND THEN MAYBE TUESDAY AFTERNOON AS WELL. BUT THE CHANCE OF RAIN IS VERY LOW OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. THIS MAJOR RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE FORMING OVER THE EASTERN U.S. IS GOING TO KEEP US HIGH AND DRY FOR THE MOST PART, ALSO HOT AND HUMID. IT’S GOING TO BE A BIT WEIRD. IT’S GOING TO BE HOTTER IN NEW YORK AND NEW ENGLAND THAN HERE IN NORTH CAROLINA, WHICH WE DON’T SEE VERY OFTEN, BUT STILL IT’S GOING TO BE WARM ENOUGH HERE IN NORTH CAROLINA. TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO BE ABOVE 100F, AND LATER IN THE WEEK TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO BE AROUND 100F. THROUGH FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. SO NOT AS HOT AS IT COULD BE. Here’s one final look at your Father’s Day forecast. Warm and humid, with scattered showers or thunderstorms. Mostly dry for the next seven days. Things are looking dry and hot for Juneteenth activities on Wednesday. Temperatures will be back at 90 degrees by Friday.
