First warning: Gradual warming trend begins

(KFVS) – Things are about to heat up in the Heartland.

Today a gradual warming trend begins with increasing humidity.

There will be some fog again this morning. No warnings have been issued.

There will be plenty of sunshine this afternoon and highs will reach 29 to 30 degrees.

The dew point rises to about 60 degrees, but it is still relatively dry for this time of year.

On Thursday and Friday, maximum temperatures will be just under 32 degrees Celsius, with dew points around 15 degrees Celsius.

The weekend promises to remain hot and humid as high pressure weather develops from the west.

The lowest temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will be just over 21 degrees and the highest temperatures between 35 and 35 degrees.

The heat index will approach 100 degrees.

Models are now predicting more clouds and some thunderstorms from the south through Sunday afternoon. If that continues, afternoon temperatures could be somewhat limited.

From Monday to next Wednesday, isolated showers and thunderstorms are also possible.

Afternoon highs are expected to remain around 90 degrees next week.
