Janetia Knapp: State pays $1.2 million to station member who was raped in infamous mission and abused by Barry Cable’s brother

A sexual abuse survivor who was repeatedly attacked while a ward of the state – abused by Barry Cable’s brother, serial rapist Garry Narkle and a man who was supposed to care for her – has won $1.2 million in compensation after a long battle.

Stolen Generations survivor Janetia Knapp said Vincent Cable believed his respected status in the community would allow him to get away with his crimes, recalling that from a young age Narkle had “a desire to harass others and do wrong.”
