Man arrested after chase with Oklahoma City police for driving stolen car

A man is in jail Thursday morning after a nighttime police chase in Oklahoma City.

According to police, the pursuit began when officers spotted William Merrell in a stolen car near the corner of Northwest 44th Street and Penn.

Investigators say he stopped but then drove away, abandoning the car near Southwest 29th Street and Interstate 44.

Merrell then attempted to escape but was arrested.
