Nine-year-old motocross rider dies in bizarre accident while racing on the race track

Brooke Carlton died after a collision with another driver at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in California

A nine-year-old girl has died in a bizarre accident on a motocross track in California.

On June 2, just before 10 a.m., Brooke Carlton collided with another rider while riding her dirt bike at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park.

Brooke became unconscious and received first aid at the scene before emergency services arrived and took her to hospital.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the young girl tragically died after a hospital stay.

The other driver involved in the accident was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Officials from the sheriff’s office are currently investigating the incident along with personnel from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station and the Department of Transportation.

To support Brooke’s family following the tragic loss, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up and has already raised over $45,000 at the time of this writing.

Fundraiser organizer Ally Giles posted a statement from Brooke’s family on the page.

It read: “Yesterday the good Lord called our dear Brooke Lily to heaven after a freak accident at a local motocross track. Our whole family is still trying to understand why our Brookie, but we firmly believe that God needed her and called her home to be with Him.

“As we use this time to be with our family, PLEASE keep our family in your thoughts and prayers and hold your loved ones a little tighter for us as we try to navigate this sudden hurdle in our lives. We love you always and forever, Brooke Lily. #irideforbrooke.”

Ally also paid tribute to Brooke, writing: “She was a real beast who knew what she wanted and there was no getting around it. One look at her sparkling eyes and big smile was enough to convince you that the sky was actually pink and purple and that you should ‘buy her an ice cream’.

“She loved her parents. She loved her dog Gunner. She loved her grandparents. Most of all she loved her brother Landon.”

Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park released a statement following the tragedy, saying: “We are truly saddened by the situation. This was as freaky an accident as the parents said.”

“This is not a time to denigrate the racetrack, but a time to think about this little girl and support her family. We are a community and we will do our part to support the family as well.”

“Rest in peace, Brooke.”

UNILAD has reached out to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office for an update on the investigation.
