Seloover’s remains will be collected from O’Hare International Airport at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, and escorted by Illinois State Police and motorcycles from Rolling Thunder Inc., Patriot Guard Riders, American Legion Riders and other patriotic groups to the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls. The route has not yet been determined.

Rock Falls police will conduct traffic stops depending on the route chosen. They expect to conduct traffic stops along Route 30 at the intersection with 12th Avenue. Police vehicles will then follow the escort after it passes through, Rock Falls Deputy Police Chief Mark Davis said in an interview with Shaw Local.

On Tuesday, June 4, the funeral procession will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home and the hearse will be escorted to the Coloma Township Cemetery at 10:45 a.m.

Tuesday’s escort will include the Rock Falls Fire Department and Police Department, as well as motorcycles from Rolling Thunder Inc., Patriot Guard Riders, American Legion Riders, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.

Rock Falls police officers will lead and accompany the escort and block intersections to allow the convoy to pass, Davis said.

The Rock Falls Fire Department’s fire command vehicles and a fire truck will be part of the escort. The fire department is working to arrange for a ladder truck to be placed at the cemetery where the American flag can be raised. Out of respect, the forces involved will wear Class A uniforms, Rock Falls Fire Chief Ken Wolf said in an interview with Shaw Local.

After arriving at the cemetery, a funeral service with full military honors will be held. A group of uniformed active-duty military personnel will perform the tattoo, gun salutes and the folding of an American flag. Members of Rolling Thunder of Illinois Chapter 2 will give a speech and present a flag, Kora Magill, mortician at McDonald Funeral Home, said in an interview with Shaw Local.

An obituary for Seloover is posted on the McDonald Funeral Home website at mcdonaldfuneralhomes.com.
