Man who shot his brother in Farmington Hills over a dog fight is charged with murder

Fredrick Delano Logan, 30, was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated weapon possession and two counts of illegal weapon possession after killing his brother in a dispute over a dog.

The shooting occurred at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday (May 25) at a home in the 33000 block of Saratoga Circle.

The brothers’ mother called 911 to report that her sons had been involved in an argument that ended with Logan killing her 28-year-old son, Ricky Williams III.

Williams III was taken to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Logan left the house before the police arrived.

The area was searched by officers, dog teams and several drones, but without success.

After a short chase, he was later arrested in Warren.

On Wednesday, May 29, Logan was arraigned in 47th District Court. He pleaded not guilty and denied bail.

A preliminary examination conference is scheduled for June 5 at 1:30 p.m.
