A man dies and a teenager is injured in shootings in Ahwatukee on Tuesday

A man died and a teenager was seriously injured after two separate shootings occurred in Ahwatukee late Tuesday night.

According to Phoenix police, officers responded to the area near 48th Street and Wakail Loop around 11:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. They found a teenager with life-threatening injuries and took him to a nearby hospital.

While investigating the area, police then found another man dead from a gunshot wound. He was found in his car near the scene of the first reported shooting., said the police.

Both shootings are currently under investigation, but police have not said whether the incidents are related.

The area was cordoned off during the investigation, police said.
