Atlanta Braves Fans Talk About Acuña Injury

The Braves shared on social media that Acuña had a complete torn ACL in his left knee.

ATLANTA — Braves fans are keeping a close eye on reigning NL MVP Ronald Acuña Jr. after he suffered a season-ending injury in a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Acuña landed awkwardly on his left leg during the match.

Acuña said he was looking to take third when he expected a slow return to the mound from catcher Joey Bart. The draw was harder than expected, leading to an abrupt return to second place with a twisted knee.

Despite the injury, fans expressed optimism for the Braves. Many believe the team will perform well against the Washington Nationals and throughout the rest of the season. But the Braves lost on Memorial Day 8-4.

Matthew Sullentrop said he thought Acuña’s absence would hurt the team in the long run. But as for the current series against the Washington Nationals, he thinks the rest of the team has enough talent to pull off a few wins.

“Washington is still struggling, so I think the Braves won the series,” he said, reflecting a common sentiment among fans.

“The Nationals have never been one of our biggest competitors,” added Linda Teribury.

The injury has undoubtedly caused concern, but Braves fans are hopeful for Acuña’s speedy recovery and remain confident in the team’s depth and resiliency.

The reigning MVP’s presence will be missed, but fans will trust the rest of the team to step up in his absence.
