St. Clair County man dies in tractor accident

GREENWOOD TWP, MICH (WWJ) A St. Clair County man died in a tractor accident.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office said officers were called to a Greenwood Township home on Logana Road near Yale Street around 6:30 p.m. on Friday (May 24) for a report of an unresponsive man.

Greenwood Township is located in the Thumb region about 70 miles north of Detroit.

The man’s 23-year-old son found his father lying in the field, according to the sheriff’s office.

Further investigations revealed that the 57-year-old victim was working in a field when he fell from his tractor and was run over.

First responders took him to Port Huron McClaren Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

His name has not been released. Alcohol and drugs are believed not to be a factor.
