Sayre woman arrested for drug abuse/child endangerment

SAYRE, Pa. (WETM) – A Sayre woman was arrested Tuesday after police said she was involved in the manufacture and possession of several drugs at a home in the county.

According to a criminal complaint released by Bradford County Court, 32-year-old Samantha L. Denny was arrested on Tuesday, May 7, on multiple drug charges related to activity at a home on Draper Street.

Denny was arrested on the following charges:

  • One count of manufacturing a controlled substance, a felony.
  • Two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a first-degree misdemeanor.
  • One count of possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
  • One count was possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

According to the report, on April 28, police arrested 32-year-old Wyatt Yanney at his home on Draper Street. After his arrest, police searched the home and said they found several drugs, including meth and psilocybin mushrooms.

Police said Denny or the children were not home at the time of the original raid, but said there was evidence of children being there and sleeping in one of the bedrooms in the house. Police gave reason to believe that Denny was sleeping with Yanney in the other bedroom.

The report states that because of the drugs and paraphernalia visible throughout the home, police believed there was no way Denny was aware of the drug situation or that her children were exposed to the items.

Police said in the report that two phones were taken from the adults’ bedroom, claiming one belonged to Denny and that it was on the computer desk near the narcotics and paraphernalia. This phone is waiting for a search warrant to be searched.

Denny was arrested and processed before being transported to the Bradford County Correctional Facility. Records show Denny is being held on $100,000 bail and has a hearing scheduled for May 21.
