10th grade student rapes 13-year-old on school premises, 4 men record the heinous act to blackmail the girl’s parents; all accused arrested

Andhra Pradesh Police on Wednesday arrested a 15-year-old boy for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl inside the premises of a public school in Eluru district. Besides the minor accused, four others were arrested for allegedly filming the heinous rape and circulating the video after the victim’s parents refused to pay Rs 200,000.

According to reports, the victim was on his way to collect his Grade 7 exam results on May 15 when the incident occurred.

According to Hindustan Times reports, the girl had completed her Class 7 final exams in March. On March 15, as a Class 10 student of the same school, she went to school to collect her certificate and the four men dragged her into an empty classroom.

According to local police, the boy raped the minor in one of the school’s classrooms while four men filmed the horrific incident on their mobile phones. When the incident occurred, the school was closed for summer vacation.

They later used the video to blackmail the victim’s parents, demanding Rs 200,000.

The men made the video viral on WhatsApp after the victim’s parents did not comply with their demands.

The incident came to light when parents filed a police report on Wednesday.

Following a complaint from the girl’s family, the police nabbed the suspect within hours of receiving the complaint and sent the girl for a medical examination.

While the juvenile was charged under Section 375 of the Indian Penal Code, the four men were charged under Sections 354c, 341, 506 and 109 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as Sections 14 and 15 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Pocso) and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act.

The police sent the boy to a juvenile home while other accused, aged between 19 and 22, were arrested and produced before a court in Eluru. Later, all four were remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.

The matter is currently being thoroughly investigated.
