2 police officers injured after incident in Windsor Locks – NBC Connecticut

Two Windsor Locks police officers were injured Tuesday while responding to a 911 call.

According to police, officers went to a home on Arbor Street to meet with a representative from Community Health Resources, who was there to check on the welfare of a 22-year-old woman who had a history of aggressive behavior.

One of the officers and the representative were talking to the woman when she suddenly walked to her car and claimed she wanted to get her vape pen.

While the officer was following her, the woman started the car. The officer reached into the vehicle to turn it off and the woman struck the officer in the head with the vape pen, causing a cut, police said.

The second officer then approached the vehicle as the woman put the car in reverse and backed up. According to police, she struck both officers with the driver’s door before driving off.

Both officers were taken to the hospital to be treated for cuts and bruises. They were later released.

Windsor Locks notified surrounding police departments to be on the lookout for the woman. She was found in a CVS parking lot in Enfield and taken into custody.

She was charged with assault on a police officer, first-degree reckless endangerment, obstructing an officer and disturbing the peace. She was held on $350,000 bail and appeared in court on Wednesday.
