A Phoenix woman was arrested after stabbing her boyfriend

PHOENIX – Authorities say a woman in Phoenix stabbed her boyfriend and was arrested after turning herself in Sunday afternoon

Shortly after noon on Sunday, officers responded to a report of a man being stabbed near Thomas Road and 51st Ave.

Esperanza Bautista Valencia, 52, told police she stabbed her boyfriend.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a dead man, in his mid-50s, with multiple stab wounds in the driveway.

After investigators interviewed Bautista Valencia, she was taken into custody and charged with murder.

According to police, the man’s name will only be released after his family has been notified.

No further details about the case were disclosed.
