Worker killed in forklift accident in Cheektowaga

BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) – Cheektowaga police said a workplace accident led to the death of a worker at Sonwil Distribution last week.

According to police, a worker was found lifeless and pinned by a forklift at the Sonwil Drive warehouse on Wednesday afternoon. Police said 39-year-old Carlos Matos was unable to perform life-saving measures.

“The investigation into the incident led us to classify the incident as an industrial accident,” police said.

Matos lived in Buffalo. It’s unclear what caused him to become trapped by the vehicle.
