Woman, 55, shot in buttocks while walking street in southwest Atlanta

ATLANTA — Police are investigating a shooting that left a woman injured.

On Monday, shortly before 7 p.m., officers responded to Smith Street Southwest for a report of a person shot.

Police said she was walking on McDaniel Street when she was shot by an unknown assailant.

Police arrived on scene and found a 55-year-old woman who had been shot in the buttocks.

She was taken to hospital for treatment.
