Penn Yan woman arrested for driving under the influence after erratic driver investigation

A local woman has been arrested for drunk driving following a runaway driver investigation in the Village of Penn Yan. Susan L. Ralston was arrested May 4 in Penn Yan after she was observed driving erratically.

Penn Yan police initiated a traffic stop on Elm Street when they noticed Ralston’s vehicle failing to maintain its lane on Liberty Street. Ralston was identified by her driver’s license and underwent a sobriety test, which she failed, leading to her arrest for drunk driving (DWI).

Ralston was examined by a drug recognition expert following her arrest and underwent a blood draw as part of the Penn Yan investigation.

She was issued tickets for drunk driving and failure to obey the law and was released to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
