Car crash in Glenview leaves one 17-year-old dead, three others hospitalized – NBC Chicago

A 17-year-old boy was killed and three other people were critically injured in a two-vehicle crash in suburban Glenview overnight.

According to fire officials, the accident occurred around 11 p.m. Sunday near East Lake Avenue and Meadow Lane in Glenview. Lake Avenue between Waukegan and Wagner roads was expected to remain closed in both directions until at least 8 a.m. Monday, with officials advising motorists to stay out of the area.

According to the Cook County Coroner’s Office, 17-year-old Marko Niketic of Glenview was killed in the accident. Three other people were taken to a nearby hospital and were last seen in critical condition, police said.

Photos and videos from the crime scene early Monday morning showed a heavy police presence and investigators were working to collect evidence. Two badly damaged cars could be seen in which airbags were deployed. Debris from the accident lay scattered across the road, including parts of a fallen wooden fence.

In one photo, the back and driver’s side of one of the vehicles involved appeared to be completely destroyed.
