Former DOC employee arrested in connection with child pornography investigation, authorities say

Authorities say a Pauls Valley man was arrested in connection with a child pornography investigation.

According to a joint statement from the Garvin County Sheriff’s Office, a cyber tip led investigators to 23 videos of sexual assault on children.

Investigators identified the user as 27-year-old Benny Weldon. Authorities say Weldon faces several charges, including distribution of child pornography.

The Department of Corrections issued a statement regarding Weldon, a former employee. The statement reads:

“Benny Weldon’s termination process began as soon as ODOC was notified of the crimes he allegedly committed. The agency does not tolerate wrongdoers and appreciates the diligence of our law enforcement colleagues who make Oklahoma safer.”
