Wheatley man dead after crash near Chatham

A Wheatley man died in a crash near Chatham, Ont., on Thursday.

According to Chatham-Kent Police, emergency crews responded to the single-car accident at Merlin Road and Kidd Line, where an eastbound car traveled through the intersection, left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch at Merlin Road .

“Emergency workers attempted life-saving measures but were unsuccessful,” police said.

A 51-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Police are currently investigating and are asking anyone with information to contact Const. Joel Rehill.
