1 dead and 2 injured in head-on collision outside Bonneau

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) – One person is dead and two people have been hospitalized after a crash in Berkeley County.

According to Master Trooper Brandon Bolt, the accident occurred around 5:10 p.m. Friday between a 2011 Toyota SUV and a 2008 Toyota pickup truck.

The SUV was traveling west on Highway 52, about a mile north of Bonneau, while the truck was traveling east. The two vehicles collided head-on.

The drivers of both vehicles were injured and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The SUV’s passenger was killed in the accident.

The Berkeley County Coroner has not yet released the identity of the victim.

This accident is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
