Woman hit and killed by hit-and-run driver in Baldwin Hills – NBC Los Angeles

A woman was killed early Tuesday morning in the Baldwin Hills neighborhood of south Los Angeles when she was struck by a car driven by a fleeing driver, authorities said.

The collision occurred before 2 a.m. at the corner of La Cienega and Obama Boulevard, Los Angeles police confirmed.

A video from the scene of the accident shows rescue workers attempting to save the female victim by resuscitation.

But after she was pronounced dead, a man who was apparently close to the female victim was seen crying and hugging the woman’s body.

Witnesses also said that seconds after they saw a car speeding down the road, they saw the woman’s body thrown several feet through the air.

Police are trying to locate the driver, who may have been driving a dark-colored Toyota Camry.
