Tokaido Shinkansen trains between Hamamatsu and Nagoya suspended due to accident; service expected to resume around noon at the earliest

Due to a collision between two maintenance trains early Monday morning, Tokaido Shinkansen train services between Hamamatsu and Nagoya stations were suspended.

Recovery from the accident is expected to take considerable time and operations are not expected to resume until around midday at the earliest.

The collision occurred between Toyohashi and Mikawa-Anjo stations on the Tokaido Shinkansen Line.
