West Seattle Blog… | FERRY ALERT: Fauntleroy-Vashon-Southworth only with one boat tonight

Washington State Ferries Three boats spent most of the day sailing the Triangle Route to accommodate Vashon Island’s biggest summer event, the Strawberry Festivalbut there is again a shortage of crew and the trip is reduced to one boat – here is the warning that the WSF sent:

Due to a lack of staff, the third boat on the Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth route has docked for the evening. The Kitsap #2 will be taken out of service after departing Fauntleroy for Vashon at 5:20 p.m., leaving the route with only one boat for the remainder of the day. Due to the disruption, customers should expect long wait times and delays.

For customers attempting to reach Vashon Island, the alternate route is Point Defiance/Tahlequah.

Due to the Vashon Strawberry Festival, we will be prioritizing service between Vashon and Fauntleroy. Customers from Southworth/Fauntleroy are strongly encouraged to use Seattle/Bremerton as an alternate route.
