Who was Gavin Dasaur, the Indianapolis man killed in a road rage incident?

Gavin Dasaur, 29, of Indianapolis was recently killed in a horrific incident of road rage. Dasaur rushed up to a white Chevrolet pickup truck on a Tuesday night, holding what appeared to be a firearm and attempted to attack the driver. The driver attempted to block the blow in an attempt to defend himself.

Some people on social media have falsely reported that the incident occurred in Pensacola, Florida. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reports that the incident began at around 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of South Emerson Avenue and Thompson Road.

At around 8:15 p.m., video shows Dasaur approaching a white Chevrolet pickup near the intersection of Thompson Road and South Emerson Avenue. With what appeared to be a firearm in his hand, Dasaur attempted to strike the driver of the pickup.

The truck driver parried the blow. Dasaur then took the gun in his left hand and continued to abuse the driver. The driver then pulled out a gun and started shooting at Dasaur. After Dasaur fell to the ground, the person filming sought shelter in his car and the video ended.
