Shoplifting leads to arrest of four people in Naugatuck

NAUGATUCK – While responding to a shoplifting report at the Stop & Shop at 727 Rubber Avenue on July 16, police arrested four people and uncovered several outstanding warrants.

At around 5:30 p.m., officers encountered 38-year-old Jaclyn Kichar of Ansonia attempting to leave the scene in a vehicle along with 47-year-old Jamell Savage of Waterbury and two Winchester residents, Craig Kichar (38) and Danielle Dimeo (38).

Two passengers attempted to escape on foot, but were quickly arrested after a short chase.

Further investigation revealed that several arrest warrants were issued for Jaclyn Kichar, Danielle Dimeo and Craig Kichar.

The charges against the individuals included conspiracy to commit theft, possession of a controlled substance and obstruction of a public official.

Jaclyn Kichar, who is facing charges including sixth-degree theft and drug possession, was released to Shelton police on $5,000 no-bond bail.

Her appearance in Waterbury Superior Court is scheduled for August 7 at 9 a.m.

Danielle Dimeo was charged with fifth-degree theft and use of drug paraphernalia, among other charges, and was released on $10,000 no-bond bail. The court date was the same as Jaclyn’s.

Jamell Savage, charged with conspiracy to commit theft, was released on $5,000 bail without surety for an August 7 court date.

Craig Kichar was charged with fifth-degree theft and other charges and was held on several warrants for failure to appear in court.

He was granted a $5,000 no-surety bail and appeared in court on July 17.

All four individuals are scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on August 7 to face their respective charges.
