Man killed in hit-and-run in Lower Wacker, Chicago police search for driver of semi-trailer in downtown Chicago

CHICAGO (WLS) — According to Chicago police, a man was killed while walking through downtown on Wednesday evening.

The victim was walking near the 90th block of East Lower Wacker Drive around 10:05 p.m. when he was struck by a semi-trailer, police said.

After the driver of the semi-trailer hit the man, he fled the scene of the accident.

The man was taken to hospital where he later died.

No one is in custody. Three detectives from the CPD Area are leading the investigation.

It is not known how police knew the man was hit by a truck driver. It is also not known whether police were able to find surveillance cameras of the incident.
