Efforts underway to honor Troup County high school student who died in car crash

TROUP COUNTY, Ga. (WTVM) – The family of Mary Joy Moosman is coming together to raise money in memory of the Troup County teenager who died in a car crash in mid-May.

The money raised this year will benefit Mary Joy’s best friend Hadilee Arnold, who was injured in the accident and is still recovering.

The funds collected in the coming years will benefit the Mary Joy Moosman Foundation, a scholarship fund for seniors.

To raise money, lemonade stands will be set up at four different locations on July 27th.

  • 609 Avenue C in West Point, Georgia
  • 310 Broad Street in LaGrange, Georgia
  • 425 East 4th Street in Jacksonville, Florida

Mary Joy’s Lemonade Stands opens at 10 a.m. and the suggested donation is $2.

Cash App, Venmo and cash are accepted.

The LaGrange location also sells jewelry.

Moosman died on May 16 in a car crash involving five Troup County High School students.
