Man fatally shot following parking dispute in Houston | State

HOUSTON, Texas — Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 12806 Buffalo Speedway around 6:45 p.m. Saturday.

The identity of the 24-year-old victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, according to a news release from the Houston Police Department (HPD).

Sergeant N. Lazo and Detective M. Providence of the HPD Homicide Division reported that HPD patrol officers responded to a call of a shooting in the parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address and found the victim unconscious and lying on the ground. He had been shot multiple times. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.

A preliminary investigation and witness testimony determined that the victim and his family members got into an argument with at least one other individual over a parking space. Witnesses said an unknown vehicle arrived and a suspect, described only as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, exited the vehicle and shot the victim multiple times. The suspect then fled the scene in the vehicle.
