Buffalo Sabres Open Discussion | Week of 7/15

The summer heat is upon us. Honestly, it’s hard to believe that we’re already halfway through July. Summer has gone by so quickly, and I think part of it is because the NHL season has extended into June.

Arbitration hearings begin this week across the league. As of this writing, goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and forward Beck Malenstyn are headed to arbitration, though either or both could reach an agreement with the Buffalo Sabres before their respective hearings.

Elsewhere this week, Tuesday is 716 Day! It’s a perfect day to appreciate our beautiful city (and surrounding areas) and for me, a very special day as it’s also my wedding anniversary. What can I say? Buffalo, through and through.

It’s also time for Give 716, a local initiative created by the Sabres & Bills Foundations where you can support nonprofits and get a chance to get memorabilia including t-shirts, autographed items and more. Give 716 kicks off Monday night at 7:16 p.m. and runs through Tuesday night.
