Baton Rouge police make arrests in investigation into car theft ring, 11 weapons found

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (BRPROUD) – Baton Rouge police say several weapons were found during an investigation into a “major auto burglary ring.”

Baton Rouge Police Corps Tayveon Slaughter made arrests in connection with this case on Sunday, July 14.


The BRPD said the officer was “on special duty investigating several car break-ins when he encountered the criminals in the 6900 block of Greenwell Springs Road.”

They said eleven weapons were found and two of them were returned to their owners.

The investigation is ongoing and BPRD is asking the public for help.
