Eleven bodies recovered after bus accident on Trishuli River; seven identified bodies handed over to families

CHITWAN, July 15: Eleven bodies have been recovered after the bus accident in Trishuli river. The Chitwan District Administration Office has confirmed that seven of these bodies have been identified.

Chitwan district chief Indradev Yadav said two of the identified victims were Indian nationals.

Eight bodies were found on the banks of Narayani River in Ward No. 28 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City and Ward No. 2 of Gaindakot Municipality, one in West Nawalparasi and two in Susta Nahar.

According to the District Administration Office Chitwan, one of the identified victims is 22-year-old Sudip BK of Padampokhari, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-22 and another is Feroz Rahup Mia, 17, of Jamunamai-4, Rautahat.

Sudip was a passenger in Ba Pra bus 03-006K1516 travelling from Birgunj to Kathmandu while Mia was travelling in Ba Pra bus 03-001K2495 from Kathmandu to Gaur in Rautahat. Their bodies were brought to Chitwan from Binayi Triveni in East Nawalparasi around 2 pm last night.

CDO Yadav also mentioned that the identified bodies have been handed over to their families.

On Friday, 65 passengers were travelling in bus Ba Pra 03-006 Kha 1516 Angel Deluxe from Birgunj to Kathmandu and in Ganapati Bus Ba Pra 03-001 Kha 2495 from Kathmandu to Gaur. Three of them managed to save their lives by jumping out of the window, while others are still missing along with the buses.
