Sonoma men arrested for wagon theft in Stockton

(FOX40.COM) — According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, men from Sonoma attempted to rob a railroad car parked near the BNSF Mariposa Yard, Stockton Intermodal Facility on June 28.

Officers were responding to reports of a suspicious person near South Kaiser Road when a police dog spotted a truck illegally entering the rail yard.


Three men and several packages and boxes were found in the truck.

A large railway wagon was found with the container doors open. Scattered on the floor around the wagon were boxes that matched those on the back of the truck.

Juan Jose Lopez-Fuerte, Fernando Mata-Gamino and Hernan Lopez-Chavez, all of Sonoma, California, were taken to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

The three men are accused of burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen goods.
